One of the biggest mistakes that foreign students do while learning Turkish is mixing the names of nations with language names. In fact there is a very simple formula for that.
First of all you need to learn the names of the nations. Afterwards you can use the following formula for the language names.
Language= Nationality+ -ca, -ce, -ça, -çe
*If the word ends with f,s,t,k,ç,ş,h,p then you will use -ça or -çe according to the last wovel.
İngilizce= İngiliz+ce İngiliz is a nationality name. But when we add the -CA suffix it has become a language name.
Almanca= Alman+ca
Fransızca= Fransız+ca
Yunanca= Yunana+ca
Arnavutça= Arnavut+ça
İtalyanca= İtalyan+ca
Arapça= Arap+ça
Kırgızca= Kırgız+ca
Rusça= Rus+ça
There are also some language names that this formula can not be applied.
Hollanda (in English Holland) is a country name. Hollandalı, is from Holland. If we apply this formula for this nation (Hollandalı+ca) it will be huge mistake. So if the nation’s name ends with -lı, -li, -lu, -lü, we will attach the language suffix(-CA) to the nation’s name as the following.
Hollandaca= Hollanda+ca (naitonality is Hollandalı)
Norveççe= Norveç+çe (nationality is Norveçli)
İsveççe= İsveç+çe (nationality is İsveçli)
